This will NOT work on most armors!
Ive done lots of tests and must say that on most armors the old black CANNOT be reproduced. The closest to the old black you can get (on about 50% tested items) is the Black+Black combination, but that can't be applied to the item, just previewed.

is this even close to black?

He tried and failed but made a thread about it to make it look like a success. Even his examples are FAR from what the old black looked like.

And because of people like him or you people miss the real problem which is the flawed dye mixing system and the impossibility to reproduce the colors that the game engine CAN still display.

I've spent ~10 hours on testing the new dye mixing system and made detailed explainations on how it works in a thread on gwonline forums, I see I will have to put all that together again and post here...

I mentioned in my last reply that the dye recipe may not work on all armors but necromancer ones.

No need to bash the whole thing.

Sorry misjudged the comment then. But I would have to say that I've seen gray on some of the warrior armor that I've had dyed Black before and its far from the old Black.

Are you speaking of the "old" three dye Black? (With no black in it.)

It seems like you have to change the yellow dye to get it right on other armors.

Even on all necro armor it won't work. The dye results are based on the crafting materials used in the making of the armor. Even that bering said, there are times when the same dye on the same matching sets of armor for a class will turn out differently, orange on 15k sunspear dervish chest isn't the same as on the legs.

One thing that really sucks with the removal of dye remover is that it is sometimes impossible to get back to the original color. I dyed my Storm Bow this weekend, and no matter what combination I try, I can't get it back to the original. Gray doesn't work, it just makes it look horrible.
